Diwali

Diwali is a five-day feast for the Indians. It is a celebration of good overpowering the evil and brightness over darkness. It marks the start of the Hindu year of which the Indian residents light up their houses of colorful candles, lamps, and fireworks. Also known as the Festival of Lights in India, Diwali is celebration that would definitely be enjoyed by tourists.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Lord Ganesha is an elephant-headed god of Hindu religion and the birth of this Hindu god is celebrated by the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in India. This amazing 11-day festival is held with beautifully crafted Ganesha statues being displayed on the Indian homes. These statues are being brought to a parade on the end of celebration. There would be much singing and dancing during the parade and the statues will be emerged in the ocean after the celebration.

Holi

Holi is being celebrated in two days in honor of the good dominating the evil. Also known as the Festival of Colors the people who participate in this festival often cover themselves with colorful powders by throwing them to each other. Indians will have parties and dance under sprinklers during this celebration. Visitors are also welcome to join if they don’t mind getting a little messy.

Onam

Onam is a ten-day harvest festival in india that celebrates the home coming of the mythical King Mahabali. The people beautifully arrange flowers in patterns on their home floors as a sign of their warm welcome to their king. The celebration is accompanied of wearing new clothes, dancing, party, games, and feasts in banana leaves.

Kerala Temple Festivals

Kerala temple festivals are being celebrated by parading huge elephants with luxurious ornaments. They also parade floats, drummers, and musicians during the festival. These festivals have made Kerala of south India known for their gigantic showcases of elephants with decorated head designs.
